The Orthopaedics department is manned by a team of dedicated, highly experienced surgeons, who have trained abroad. It offers:

  • Treatment of complex fractures using both internal fixation and external fixation techniques.

  • Reconstructive surgeries for complex problems, including Iliazarov(Russian) techniques. It specializes in reconstructive problems in polio, cerebral palsy, correcting deformities in bone.
  • Specialised surgery of bone cancer in collaboration with oncologists(cancer specialists).

  • Hand surgery and upper limb surgery where in tender repairs, micro vascular surgery, surgery for brachial plexus injuries, bone injuries, reattachment of amputated parts is done.

  • Spine surgery and treatment of spine tumors, spine infections, correction of spine deformities is available, including treatment of spine fractures.

  • Treatment for children's orthopedic problems such as club foot, knock knees, bowing of knees, curvature of spine.

  • Joint replacement surgery for hip and knee disorders.

  • Arthroscopy surgery and resonstructionary ligament injuries of the knees.

  • Treatment of arthritis- both rheumatoid arthritis gout, seronegative arthopathies like ankylosing sodalities. this is done is collaboration with the rheumatology team. Osteoporosis is managed aggressively by this team.

  • Physiotherapy for faster recovery and relief of pain, orthoptis and prosthesis for fitting pf lightweight braces and artificial limbs.
