First
time in Gurgaon OPHTHALMIC FIESTA 2006 is being organized by Gurgaon
Ophthalmological Society under the aegis of Haryana Ophthalmological
Society and Sheetla Hospital & Eye Institute Pvt Ltd
The vision of Gurgaon Ophthalmic Society (GOS) in addition of bring
together ophthalmic doctors to enhance each other clinical and surgical
skills, is community service and education of rural and urban population
masses towards eye care and eye health awareness.
On this occasion, an outstanding faculty of eminent speakers delivered
stimulating, interactive and informative educational programs.
There was a special session / Workshop for hands on training of
Lasik surgery and Workshop on Contact Lens. This was conducted by
Senior Doctors of Gurgaon Ophthalmic Society under the supervision
of Dr Ajay Sharma
In the second half of the day best of surgeons (Dr A.K.Grover,
Dr Vivek Pal, Dr Shashi Kapoor, Dr Neetu Sharma, Dr Kapil Vohra,
Dr K.D.Singh, Dr Ajay Sharma) were seen doing live surgeries and
this was shown on a big screen where about 100 doctors were privileged
to witness .
On this occasion renowned ophthalmologist and President of GOS
shared his experiences to the press and informed that many of the
eye problems can be prevented, controlled and cured if detected
at an early stage
OPHTHALMIC FIESTA 2006 continued till 15.01.2006.The Chief Guests
were
Dr Arvind Sharma (Member of Parliament) and Dr Amar Aggarwal (World
renown Ophthalmologist)
Dr Arvind Sharma is Member of Parliament from Karnal and himself
being a Doctor has a keen interest in promotion of health facilities
through out the state.
Dr Amar Aggarwal from Chennai is a world renown ophthalmologist
is the first surgeon from India in the world to introduce phaconit
and micro phaconit where no anesthesia is given during the surgery.
This is a state level event and all office bearers of Haryana Ophthalmology
Society were also present .President of Haryana Ophthalmology Society
Dr C.S.Dhull was also present. Dr J.L.Sharma (Past president of
HOS) from Rohtak Medical College shared his pleasure with press
and informed that it is a matter of proud for Gurgaon to host such
a big state level event.
Around 200 senior doctors from Haryana, NCR and different parts
of India were enthusiastically seen participating in this Gala event
.This gave a platform for young and old doctors to interact with
best of Eye surgeons of India ,learn and upgrade the knowledge and
skills of delegates in the latest trends in ophthalmology.
Other senior faculty included eminent names like Dr A.k.Grover,
Dr Cyrus Shruff, from Delhi, Dr Satvir Singh from Rohtak, Dr Mahesh
Manocha from Ambala, Dr Aashish Bansal and Dr Virender Sangwan from
Hyderbad, Dr J.L.Sharma from Gurgaon.
A Souvenir was also released on this event. Mr Raj Sehgal ,Mr
Ramesh Sharma and Ravinder from marketing team of Sheetla Hospital
were instrumental in publishing of Souvenir.
